Vedanto

Born in West Berlin in 1973, a physician in general practice, running his own practice since 2010 and accredited as an academic teaching practice. He has helped train general practitioners, supervises medical students, and since this year trains medical assistants as well. Teaching has been part of the work from the beginning. The pieces on this site are made under the name Vedanto.

Before his specialist training he secured, together with partners, the federally funded project Meducase and led it technically for three years: problem-based learning, interactive cases, online and off, tied into the medical language standard UMLS. The aim was learning that follows curiosity rather than a syllabus. Out of it came, in 2003, the concept of a decentralised patient record with a marketplace for expertise — awarded a founders' prize, and then met, at the pitch, by a German health insurance world that showed little interest at the time. That idea became mediknowledger, carried for over twenty years and technically far advanced today.

For the past few years he has worked intensively with meditation, hypnotherapy and dissociative methods, and finds himself more awake and more inventive than before rather than less. The move into crypto began soberly, as provision for old age. What came of it began with a single conversation: he only meant to try out what an AI could do, and caught himself an hour later in a conversation that had gone deep. Since then he has been learning new fields daily, step by step — the way he likes to teach. That learning sets off a neuroplasticity he otherwise knows only from dissociative therapy: learning produces creativity — and that is new.

From Steam to Silicon was planned as an NFT project and has become a knowledge base with ownable works: 1,871 pieces on the history of technology, each with its own subject, its year, its sources, and documented connections to other works. The measure is not commercial success but the quality of what is written there. The collection is itself the bridge it is about — from the industrial revolution, whose achievements our prosperity rests on, to the revolution we can be part of, and between human and machine, who in this project learn from each other daily.

99 Songs of Love, Peace and Revolution brings languages and musical directions together under one banner: to connect people, to touch them, to move them. Behind it stands the same conviction as behind everything else — more direct exchange, with one another rather than about one another, using the technical means rather than against them. It will not replace the corner pub. It may offer an alternative: to listen to each other more often again, and to celebrate life and love together.
